About

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Katie. As a musician and a writer, who started a blog to share my life adventures, “Composing My Adventure” seemed like a fitting little play on words.

BUCKET LIST

James Fineous McBride said, “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow–What a ride!'”

When I was 17, I began a bucket list (things to see and do before I “kick the bucket”), and I have been adding adventures–and crossing them off–ever since. With the exception of only a few of my most personal goals, I have listed my entire bucket list, including the items I have already crossed off. Some are silly, some are more worthwhile, and some have not been as enjoyable as I might have hoped. Nonetheless, this is the adventure–the ride–of my life. I hope you enjoy reading my ideas–and suggesting new ones!

GHANA VOLUNTEER

In September 2012, I decided to begin one BIG adventure–a humanitarian service trip to Ghana, Africa. I was in Ghana from January to April 2013, working in an orphanage. It was an excellent and incredible experience 🙂

LEARN SOMETHING NEW

Have you ever heard the phrase “Learn something new every day”? It’s a nice little catch phrase, and I am surprised how often I think of it. Thus, this section is just a place for me to share the new things I learn each day. I will confess right up front: I doubt I will post on this every day. But I hope you enjoy the new little facts as much as I do. It certainly makes life more interesting.
